Bilu Huang

Bilu Huang is the Founder & Chief Scientist of Bilu Huang Institute for Aging Research (BHIAR), where he leads first-principles theoretical inquiry into the biological mechanisms of aging.

His long-term independent research began with an early interest in aging biology and age-related decline. Since the late 1990s, he has pursued theoretical approaches to understanding why organisms age, how cellular senescence may be regulated, and how causal mechanisms might be distinguished from downstream aging hallmarks.

This work led to the development of a series of aging theories and, ultimately, the TRCS Model, a model that interprets telomere DNA and ribosomal DNA dynamics as upstream regulatory signals linked to cellular senescence and organismal aging.

BHIAR was established to give this long-range theoretical work an institutional home, support rigorous scientific dialogue, and create a framework for future experimental validation, collaboration, and translational development.
